Not to mention often different Racial heritagethe only reason India isn't split into 50 different states is because they shared a common butthurt towards the British Raj that united them under a hostile power. that's literally it, a common enemy that's now gone. Even when the British were in power and India suffered mass revolts like the major one in 1857, many tribes and princedoms allied themselves with the British instead. In short, half of India fought for their own continued colonization.
of course, all this forces any reasonable onlooker to conclude that the Indians are an exceptionally dull and stupid slave race, a teeming mass of 80-IQ peasants that historically got ass raped by numerically inferior invaders and grew too big for their britches. it's astounding how badly the British treated India as a whole and like beating a donkey with a stick, the majority just sat back and took it, or even helped those who swung the stick at them judging by the huge size of the British-Indian army during both world wars.
India for the last 500 years been nothing but the punching bag of dominant regional and global empires, and will be so again when the infinitely more ethnically homogenous, more wealthy and faster-developing Chinese absorb them and strangle them into their economic sphere of influence. When an Indian tells me he is a proud Indian or a nationalist, i laugh in his fucking face.
