I remember when I was a kid in Nebraska, I had a friend from Texas and the first time I had dinner at their house, they drowned meat in A1 sauce. I have no idea to this day whether that is popular in Texas or was then (this was back in the early 90s.) This wasn't how we did it at my house but it was so novel to me and the steak sauce was so tangy I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If someone likes food one way and you like it another way, demanding they somehow morph into having your tastes is fantastically retarded. Even to say they have bad taste in food is at it's core retarded. It's like saying a koala or a sea otter has bad taste in food.
I'm not even opposed to criticizing people for behaviors like being fat or ignorant, but criticizing someone's taste in food is fundamentally retarded. It's like criticizing someone's favorite color.
