>>12627421It does sound like you got completely tangled up in world building and setting the stage. Which is understandable and it can be a good thing but for starting out it sounds extremely overwhelming to try to pull that off. Can you try sequencing it into short stories instead for now? As in, write shorts that are puzzle pieces of the big picture but closed in itself. If you keep doing that, you might not get too overwhelmed whilst still working on your overall story. Once you feel like you got enough puzzle pieces, you can still mix and match and change and merge.
Makes more sense than trying to write unrelated shorts but it might bring you back out from feeling stuck and het you to write again. I feel like it‘s worth a try.
