>>1263527If the service is decent, I tip. I stop at 5 dollars though. You dont deserve more than 5 dollars if you wait on two people, REGARDLESS of how expensive my dishes were. A large party of people is a completely different story.
Its one thing to anticipate a standard tip, and another to fucking expect 15 dollars on a 100 dollar meal that lasted maybe an hour and a half.
What pisses me off is the "oh well its supposed to be 15% of the cost of the meal" nonsense. If I eat a filet mignon and you pick up my fucking plate when im done, it doesnt make any difference what was on it, all you did is pick up a fucking plate. Youre not entitled to what I ate.
Also, if a waiter doesnt refill my drink at least once, they have forefeited their tip. You have ONE JOB, and that job is to ensure I have food and drink in a reasonable amount of time. I dont care how busy you say you are, there are millions of people with far more complex, demanding jobs than you, who get their shit done without expecting anything extra. Fuck, if you expect me to literally give you money out of the kindness of my heart, you'd better earn it (which really isnt that hard) by investing a tiny amount of attention into my meal.
