Well, I both agree and disagree.
I like playing everything except archer.
But when you're good at something, you have more fun.
People who have very tight accuracy will have more fun playing as archer.

Hardest difficulty stealth dagger build was the most fun for me, 16x sneak damage on stealth attacks is neat

I played through skyrim on hardest difficulty as a mage once. Artificial "difficulty" sucks. And sneaking around and just shooting sounds like it sucks too. Just play call of duty or something

Unarmed build. Unenchanted the fisting gloves from riften rat way. 100 enchanting. Enchant ring to boost unarmed. Make armor gauntlet fisting enchant thing. Then get the heavy armor perk that makes you fist harder. You can also be a kajitt to add claw damage.

From what I can tell the melee combat is just spam clicking so it makes sense that people would lean towards something at least vaguely interesting

Ya melee kinda sucks too, but is more fun than sneaking - > shooting. It's said most people love stealth archer because it's the easiest way to get through the game. I kinda always play as a mage. While magic in skyrim sucks, it does have variety which makes it fun
