i went on several day trips for band 1-2 times a year 5th-8th grade and 2-3 a year throughout high school. from all the romantic scheming to terrorizing locals to borderline sexually harassing your roommates at the hotel all of it felt so nostalgic and real. sorting out the consequences of that trip once you're back at school is very faithful as well. it's all just so captivating to me that sometimes it feels more like a recounting of events than a story
