>>12690440My opinion is that if aliens do exist (they probably do, considering how big the universe is), and if they are so advanced that they are capable of building spaceships that can travel to different stars, they probably wouldn't be able to find much of value in a planet like this one.
They'd probably think of contemporary humans the way we think of hunter-gatherers with their primitive stone tools and animal skins, and they would most likely be able to find all of the mineral resources available on Earth elsewhere too.
If they came all the way here just for the sake of observing us, I doubt that they would try to make their presence obvious.
If they did step on this planet for the sake of conquering and exploiting it, they might try to alter the general opinion on them over to a favorable one, so as to ease the process of making humans willingly submit themselves to them.
