i think after you defeat hellkaiser he breaks off some part of that bridge and you can jump off into the tainted bog
or from the bridge go back east to graveyard town elixir and there should be another passage on the west side of the map a little bit south to the tainted bog
in the tainted bog go south and find a little passage marked by a torch
go through it and head east to get bonfire then go north to meet the frog princess
