the short version is that our king's term was about to be over but a civil war broke out and the people voted to keep him on the throne until it was over. we were playing orphans that had been raised by the gubmint as warriors so we got sent to assassinate a bunch of rebellion politicians. we do so only to find the rebel leader releasing some big monster on his own city then fleeing back to the capital. we chase him there only for the king to let us know that they were actually working together to incite the civil war in order to extend his own term while he consolidated power in order to rule forever once the rebellion surrendered

it's just such a hassle to keep up with, especially when you start to forget what happened in the last chapter
very wise and truepilled. i'm really curious how they're gonna handle komi in particular. if she isn't chibi face 90% of the time then i won't watch, but mixing in that sort of thing with everyone else looking normal is way harder in anime i would imagine
