I used to volunteer at a old people nursing home and for the sake of getting keks, I asked them whether the krauts or the commies were the better people.
Imagine my shock, when all of them told only positive things about the krauts, telling that their soldiers usually gave children some of their chocolate rations, helped some of our people out in construction work since the commies blew up some bridges/infrastructure when they were retreating and etc.
They had some good things to tell about the commies but only in the Khruschiov era, Stalin was like the 2nd devil to them, while Brezhnev was the reason why USSR stagnated and got such a shithole status, which even a pretty liberal commie like Gorbachiov couldn't save it.
