But if you try to make every single activity you do to be "for" something, to always be under that pressure, then you might risk the nihilism in your life, ironically. You will always be able to find a frame of reference where the activity you're doing is meaningless. However, you can bypass that whole conundrum by realizing that an activity can be done for and by itself.
It mimics Kants views on ethics. It's also indirectly inspired by hindu tradition. Nihilism always fails eventually anyway.
