So i started reading the bible (OT) and i am not TOO far in but one thing i realize is that god is rather strict. He destroys an entire city for sodomy, destroys the entire world because of the insane corruption, turns Lots wife into a pillar of salt for looking at the city, things like lying, incest, murder etc. happened but god didn't exactly say too much.
I know that in the New Testament Jesus comes and tells us about all the love and good intentions god has for us and how we should not stone a prostitute if we are corrupt ourselves, how we should hate the sin and not the sinner, turn the other cheek, etc. . All in all, less strict than he was before.
My question is: Did God change? Am i missing something? It feels like the God of the Old Testament was either different from the God in the new testament... ooor he changed his temper/approach/opinion.
Or is he still the same and i just need to read more?
