sad day. I went to Twelve Oaks, shitty mall, nothing like Somerset. Couldn't find anything good. Their Nordstrom was ass. And their Macy's was bad.

Not necessarily. Some are outdoors. Some have plants inside and others don't.
This here is an image of Plaza del Sol, Mexico's oldest shopping mall (which is pretty odd as far as malls go because it doesn't have a roof).

It makes sense in the highlands of Central Mexico (which is where cities like Guadalajara and Mexico City are), but then again, I live in a low altitude city in the desert, where daytime temperatures are above 90F during 8 months of the year. Over here, people go to the mall because they like being in a place with air conditioning, and will often go strolling around the mall instead of to the nearest park.

yup! My parents are. I've been there a couple times, it's a really really nice country, but politics dealt it a bad hand.

It's also more secular than other middle eastern countries.
