Even if corruption was not rampant in the Order, they were foolish and shortsighted, forgetting the threats and challenges their ancestors they had to face to establish both the Order and the Republic, smugly sitting in their literal ivory tower over Coruscant, thinking they knew best, and were better simply for the fact they were Jedi than the common folk.
The Sith were opportunistic, self serving, arrogant, deceitful, merciless, sadistic, and only craved power. And this was dialed up to 11 in Palpatine, who was both the most powerful and the most evil Sith the Jedi faced in nearly 2 millenia.
Overall, they were both pretty shit, but Sith were shit on purpose.
