well my dad was prescribed his medication many many years ago and the dementia study is very recent, so at the time he was happy to accept the pill as a permanent solution rather than continue to go through a bunch of medical rigmarole especially since he's scared of doctors.
from talking with the doctor an overactive gallbladder doesn't seem unlikely at all and that's certainly a problem that can be caused by genetics. if that is it they just take the damn thing out and call it a day, but my dad wouldn't have gone far enough down the process to know that's the problem and solution. if anything he'd probably go get his taken out after i do in the event that's what happens.
regardless i do believe there's some dementia in the family tree so it's definitely best to see this through to the end and make sure that the pill is absolutely necessary if i'm going to be taking it long term since i'm already at risk genetically
