Medics use masks to help direct airflow away from the patient, the masks do not help stop viral spread due to the amount of air volume being moved from host to environment. In order to stop airborne viruses you would require a respirator mask made to stop nanoparticle size debris or viruses specifically.
Sorry, the store bought masks or cloth masks do not work, and once they reach maximum moisture saturation they act as incubators for bacteria.
