1) When was the 14C created or formed so we can measure the decay, they seem to assume it's all made at the same time which is bizarre. If 14C just naturally appears on an object at it's creation, how do we know we're not accidentally making more? or destroying some by cleaning the object we intend to date?
2) The measuring thing, no one is really 100% sure of it's half life because we haven't had the means to measure 14C for 5,700 years.

As to the KJV it was a massive undertaking by some of the finest minds of the time. The translators spoke Greek, Hebrew, and many other languages conversationally and had to come to a consensus on every line as well as which books to include or leave out.
Modern translations where 1 or 2 people attempt that task, yeah, that's sus.
