I’m currently engaged to a Russian woman. The last trip we had together was in Turkey and I ended up getting her pregnant. We’re currently doing the K1 visa process, but since it’s so slow, my son will be born in Russia.

I personally prefer to date non-Americans because they’re usually not locked into a narrow worldview as most American women are. And I’ll be completely honest. Being an American with a good career is very marketable internationally.

International relationships do have their negative sides of course. Any time you want to see your woman, it’s going to cost thousands of dollars (at least until she’s in your country). Also, you’ll never really get the prior experience of living with her, so that can be a bit of a gamble when it comes time to move to you. And of course there are the women who are only in it for the green card. It would be a lie to say the possibility of having a green card doesn’t hold any weight for international women. But to avoid being taken advantage of, you have to be realistic. If you go after IG model Natalya with bleached hair and tons of narcissistic selfies, you’ll get what you deserve. As with any woman, don’t go for the superficial ones.

How did you go about meeting her? I've looked into it a bit since I am nearing the end of my residency and will be practising as an M.D. soon, and have zero interest in chicks from here, the vapid Americanised slags that they are. It's not bad per se but international dating is appealing to a lot of people with personality problems. These could be people who believe that they can't "cut it" in the dating pool in their own country, people looking for a quid pro quo relationship (e.g. money + greencard for sex), people who subconsciously don't really want a successful relationship so pursue a difficult long distance relationship that will inevitably fail, etc.

Thanks for the info, a fellow Costa Rican guy pointed me in the direction of VK a while ago and I've made a profile just showcasing our nature/vistas in Russian when I have the time to actually visit them, I'll be uploading a few pictures of the Southeast Caribbean this week. I have no reason to emigrate to Belarus. The average yearly salary in Belarus is $7,000 - in Costa Rica it is $27,000. I live in a nice countryside house with a large amount of land around it and drive a Cadillac. Most of you live in commieblock apartments and ride a bus. What 'homeland' would that be? The United States? Germany? France? Scotland, even? What is my homeland supposed to be? This country? Europeans don't understand how Euro-Americans see things because we're rootless, our only shared identity is we aren't black or Indian. Our connections to our ethnic homelands are weak, if existent at all. Our history is a history of fighting off England/Spain/Portugal, then turning on each other and squabbling over menial bullshit. Our most patriotic moments are during football matches.

I'm going to visit Eastern Europe because I find the place interesting, Belarus especially since it looks so much like a time capsule of the USSR. If I meet a cute Slavic chick along the way, all the better. Having a good career is hardly worth it if I have nothing to spend the money on except myself. I think they'd probably tan pretty well too, if you got them out of that cold shithole.
