>>13001984maybe. pretty sure the men my age don't use it either though, i'll have to double check with someone. i think it's just woman or turbo normie shit
nah, that's not been my experience at all. i look at a lot of foreign shit from all over the world all the time and the period of struggle with the names does exist, sure, but it's short. it takes me a while to remember sure, but i don't perceive the names as nonsense nor have i ever, even at the start. i think the only language where i've thought the names were completely retarded nonsense and made me burst out laughing was thai. i definitely think if people treat an author's constructed names as nothing more than the equivalent of pictograms and can't remember them after 15 000 pages, that is a definite failure. if i can remember a chinese name after a episodes of a tv show while having no prior knowledge of the plot and almost no experience with chinese names and courtesy names, but even after dozens of hours of reading i can't remember a book character's name and everything reads like nonsense, i don't think it's my fault for being a brainlet anymore.
yeah i agree, i even used this same example in one of my previous posts with tolkien. everyone pretty much agrees tolkien is the gold standard when it comes to this but almost nobody is on that level.
