>TheirTube is trash. Bitchute is a bit better. If you must watch a youtube video then you can watch it on an invidious instance without running any proprietary javascript.
Bitchute says that it is decentralized but that seems like bullshit. This article goes into more detail.
https://www.dailydot.com/upstream/bitchute-decentralization-claims/ . I'm not going to check the veracity of this article with my own experiments because I don't want to run their proprietary JavaScript and all I get is a blank screen whenever I try to go on their website without js.
Peertube is an actually decentralized platform (It uses the activity pub protocol and web torrent) but there isn't much on there that is worth the time to watch.
I have been able to successfully download and seed a peertube video via a torrent client. My client can't resolve their magnet links but that is a problem with my client (It can't resolve ?xs magnet links) rather than a problem with peertube. If I download the torrent metadata file (rather than magnet) then It runs fine.
