Not the Qi defense bullshit but the more legit traditional stuff like Japanese martial arts and southern-style Gung Fu.
I have been practicing nunchucks since literally the age of 5 (oldfag now) and just recently revealed my skills and got mad unexpected props.

No they've been proven to be fake. Look at the traditional martial artists in MMA.
There are very few people who practice them and they barely use those moves over things like Muay Thai.

No, they are retarded. They generate less force than a plane old stick. You can not with 100% confidence control where they go if they hit a solid object, they have a literal engineered weak point that could break at any time, they have LESS range of motion you koala brain due to swinging inertia, as in you cant stop a chuck and change direction, you have swing it through the arc or you lose control.
Out of all the meme weapons in the world nunchucks are the absolute worst ones.

basically any martial arts that has active tournaments can teach you some good stuff.

nunchucks are not a good weapon, they are unpredictable on impact and can fuck you up.
a staff or a knife will always be better. or a baton.
