>>13034459I've got a disease! I'm cripplingly disabled by a profound mental illness! Please accept the fact that I am differently-abled and handi-capable! My disability is a super power!
You need to be tolerant and open minded! Accept that you need to lower the standards of quality control for human beings because I was born with a severe mental illness.
Think of it like this. You work at a toy factory, making sure that the toys are safe for children. One day, a clearly labeled and identified vial of VX nerve agent comes rolling down the line for inspection.
You, being a reasonable person, say "Despite the fact that this vial of VX is clearly far more dangerous and less fun than regular barbie dolls we produce, that does not mean that this VX nerve agent is any worse than barbie dolls.
We need to respect and value the diversity of VX nerve agent as and equally valid and valuable toy for children to play with. If we were to discriminate against VX nerve agent and say that it is not as good of a toy as a barbie doll, this would be unethical because this would hurt the feelings of the VX nerve agent.
Ideally, all toys are equally as fun, so if we argue that VX nerve agent is a less fun toy to play with than a barbie doll, then this would be unideal. We want this ideal to be true, so as long as we collectively refuse to acknowledge any facts that are contrary to this ideal, we can continue to believe that all toys are equally fun.
Despite the clear and present danger to children and adults posed by this vial of VX nerve agent, I will approve the quality of this toy and place it in the same packaging as every other barbie doll, because treating one toy worse than another toy because of it's chemical composition, appearance, or preferability would be unethical discrimination"
