It's certainly better than the alternatives, a baby being without parents or growing up in foster care or dead. That said, I've met mothers who have adopted kids because they do not know how to deal with being empty nesters. You certainly can adopt for the "wrong" reasons.

If you are adopting a kid then make sure they have potential and are worthy of trying to educate etc.
*Unless you yourself are a life failure, then just ski[p it and work on fixing your broken life beforehand.
