With the US-China decoupling under way and with China/US bans and sanctions on each other tech, will we see a major deviation in the science and technologies the two superpowers will develop? China is finally at a point where they can start developing their own tech instead of copy US tech.
I imagine those old sci-fi novels that had two civilization developing in two extremely different ways, with a classic being one going into robotics and one going towards biological augmentations.
Of course, where will China and US develop? China has the advantage in gene editing and other ethically conversational biological areas that the US won't want to touch. The US has a massive advantage in space and A.I so they might go all in those areas.
