You can be a "platform", or a "publisher".
As a platform, you have immunity from lawsuits for any content you host or transmit. Platforms are not allowed to moderate, edit, curate, etc their content. EXCEPTION: "good faith" policing of obscene or objectionable content. (like a phone company).
As a publisher, you can edit, block, de-platform, whatever you want, but in return, you have legal liability for anything you host or transmit. (like a newspaper).
The problem social media has is that they're not acting in "good faith" when they censor or de-platform based on political ideology. Pro-Trump / pro-republican posts are not obscene or objectionable. Anti-vax posts are not obscene or objectionable. Fuck social media, right in their communist, about-to-be-sued asses.
