since japanese is one of those languages with a syllabary instead of an alphabet though it's both impossible to pronounce a lot of english words and really obvious how you would say them in a japanese accent. it's actually really common advice to just say an english word with a funny accent if you can't remember the japanese word because most of the time they'll get what you mean.
in theory it sounds really racist, but with japanese zoomers literally not knowing any alternatives to hoteru, terebishion, or conpyuuta it's really practical.
what's funnier to me is when loan words are used in ways that they don't even get translated as the english word anymore. my favorite example of this is the fact that "pinch" (as in predicament) has become so insanely ubiquitous. i've legitimately seen two salarymen talking about how a client is threatening to pull out of a deal if their absurd demands aren't met and the other guy goes "そうか。それはやばいPINCHですね。" and it's so funny every time
