There is always hope for those who truly repent. So in that we are agreed: we must all repent of lust, since it is a crime against God, ourselves, and our fellow men.
I have never said it's ok to sin, I have said that all sins can be forgiven through grace and repentance. We are saved through grace by faith, and thus through the divine mercy, which we cannot know the limits of. But even more than that we can petition God to be merciful, as Abraham did before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. This is one of our duties as Christians also.

Sin doesnt affect God, it affects us. God is just, not temperamental. He doesnt throw fits, he dispenses justice and mercy.
God does not save us from Himself, but from sin and death. Sin is a sickness that destroys us, and death is an unnatural consequence of sin. Christ did not die to prevail over the Father who sent Him, but to prevail over this fallen world.

I have been arguing the Orthodox position as best I know it, which is that God judges without rancor, that God punishes correctively, that the world itself is fallen and therefore wordly reward is questionable at best, and that "leaning on the cross" is actually exactly what you are supposed to do in order to do anything good at all. We are supposed to call out constantly to God for help to obey His commandments. To pretend that we can do otherwise is pride, which is a grave sin. No one can be righteous without the constant intervention of the Holy Spirit.
