Hate to say it Ivan, but you don't know what you're talking about. Nothing could be further from the truth here, I have three Ortho congregations in my town, and most people in all of them are converts. The mass is in English with the native language thrown in. They make a thriving community here

To each his own. Personally, I've found this is not the case for me. Some reverence must be made to the sacred, it's human. There've been times I saw glimpses of Paradise, and it was wonderful to behold, desperate times I've prayed to Jesus where he gave me shelter. It's certainly not easy to do it in this world, but I feel the effort is worth it

The restrictions on celebrations according to the 1962 Roman Missal is not outlawing the Latin Mass. It is disappointing and an overreach of Papal authority but it was not an outlawing or declaration that old form with was invalid. As Archbishop Fisher nicely points out in the first part of his letter to his clergy granting continued permission to celebrate according the 1962, the diversity of Latin right is more than just Ordinary vs Extraordinary form.

Antiochian here. It's still the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (unless it's Great Lent, then it's St. Basil's Liturgy) in both Churches. I go to a small parish so we have to make due with what we got. I've been to a cathedral and the chanters were insanely good. For example

That's some chanting! We don't have it like that in our Church, our readers are one old man and one old woman. I honestly wanted to be part of the services so I could chant with them, I've sang in bands and choruses before. I definitely hear a Semitic language being chanted between the English, and some Greek too. Is that Arabic?

Probably. Although during vespers (again, Antiochian, so I have no clue about ROCOR for example) there's one part where we say "Lord have mercy" in seven different languages: English, Arabic, Greek, Slavonic,Swahili, Romanian, and Spanish.

Go talk to priest about you being more involved with the choir, they'll probably be excited to share because there's a lot of moving parts.
