the plot was a total backflip on the original game and barely made any sense. the characters were forgettable. the multiplayer was dog shit. the lack of ability to improve weapon accuracy by not moving meant all your guns were spray and pray bullshit.
the entire game was just trying to prove to itself that it could make an actual physics engine that worked.
the enemies were weak and uninteresting, the gravity gun was often more effective than anything else in the game. they wrote themselves into a corner so there will never be a half life 3
