The vast majority of plays that were written in the 17 century are not loved and scrutinized a hundred years after the author died. There will probably be some anime in the 21st century that will be watched years later but most of them will become obscure just as most of the plays from the 17th century have gone obscure. That being said, everything from the 21st century will probably be better preserved due to how easy it is to copy things nowadays.
