they were the chosen people before they broke there covenant. Basically God knew they were fuck ups because they would sin aton then just sacrifice random sheep and call it a day. That's why jesus is important because he is the new covenant to not only forgive the jews but also everyone else.

They were God's chosen people as the messiah would descend from Abraham's stock (specifically Isaac and not Ishmael).

Once the messiah in the form of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior came about, the covenant with Abraham was fulfilled and so old Jewish practices need not be followed anymore unless they were immoral.

Now that the covenant has been fulfilled, Christians are God's chosen people.

Which you can get three answers at least
1) From God because the offending party committed Evil, therefore it's justice
2) From Satan/demons/devil
3) From mankind as God gave man free will and so some practice evil

Because Christianity is just a janky ancient oral tradition that spawned out of Judaism, which got written down after thousands of alterations were made by passing down the accounts. The fact that one particularly shitty interpretation of a religion became this big is a stain on humanity akin to flat theory.
