Evil has been reigning here on earth since the fall of Lucifer. This place is not the kingdom of heaven, but ruled by the devil. Our purpose on this earth is to experience pain and empathy in order to forge our souls into something either good or bad, and to freely choose to worship God through pure faith. Angels don't have this gift - this luxury. They've known since their creation that God is real. We, on the other hand, have the opportunity to love God unconditionally without the benefit of knowing for certain, which makes our love one based on pure faith and far more powerful than what an angel can experience. Demons - fallen angels - are jealous of this aspect of humanity and will do anything they can to take it from us. There are a minimum of 50,000,000 fallen angels walking among us. 1/3 of those that were originally created and fell with Lucifer. Their hate and deception will continue to build until Armageddon when only a few Christians remain on earth, and then the end will come and the judgement.
Jesus Christ is the truth and the path to righteousness. Turn to Him for salvation in these terrible times.

It will explain the basics of Christianity.
Afterward if you want to see different perspectives on the story of Jesus, read Matthew, Mark, and Luke.
Matthew contains the sermon on the mount, which is the most beautiful and inspiring thing ever spoken or written on this earth and will teach you how to live a good life.
