To answer your question OP, I don't believe in ghosts. I do however believe they're something else entirely, something called jinns. The story, as told by my granny, tells that Jinns are one of three of God's creations that have souls. (The others being Angels, and of course, humans.) They are a type of being known for their mischievous nature, and commonly take on the form of dead people. Though they do not have freewill, like we do, they will still disobey God simply because it is in their nature. And also because they are directly connected with God, all you have to do to get rid of them is pray, because by praying you're calling upon God, and getting caught by God in the middle of a scare prank is the last thing jinns want happening.
