>>13441463Wow. In a way this is kino, the creation of the villainous Jared is some god-tier character development, and the ripple effect on our protagonist's life and relationships is so immense it's insane. But I do feel quite bad for the woman in this scenario honestly, and even more so for her family.
While I don't believe that Jared should have stayed with her, and on some level revenge is justified, I don't believe the protagonist here deserved what happened. And her family did not at all, aside from perhaps her friend, sister, and cousin. It's sad that they're so willing to abandon someone they know so well, but they're losing too. They're losing a friend AND their dignity. I can only imagine what about Jared/what he did that compelled them to act in such a way. Similarly, I can only imagine what the protagonist did to their loved ones to make them so inclined to leave them for Jared.
Still, I don't beliebe the redditor entirely deserved what she experienced. Call me whatever you want but I generally regard myself as a pretty empathetic person, perhaps to a fault.
Which is also why I can somewhat see things from Jared's perspective, to an extent. This redditor acknowledges it themselves, they broke him. They made him this way. They unfortunately brought this upon themselves. While they did not expect the result, as it is arguably a very unlikely one, you never truly do know how someone will take cheating. And it is certain that this could've been prevented by simply not cheating.
...Games for this feel?
