>>13445572Finns, rate my sauna. I did this in another Finn thread the other day and had a bunch of questions and criticisms, but I had walked away and by the time I looked it was archived, so I’ll preempt some of that.
>what kind of heater is that? It’s a Tylo sense combi 8. It has its own water tank and humidistat to control the humidity in 10% increments
>why does it have rocks in it wtfI think I over engineered the sauna. It’s 6’x8’ and I used r-15 faced insulation and double sided aluminum foil bubble wrap for the vapor barrier. It gets to 190F from ambient in 15 minutes. With rocks in it, it likes to trigger the safety high-temp cutoff switch, which is annoying af. I can avoid this by making it heat up slower, but nah. I don’t pour water on the rocks/coils anyway because it has the water tank.
>it doesn’t have any ventilationYou can’t see it, but there is an intake vent under the sauna and an outlet vent in the diagonally opposite corner near the ceiling.
>it’s too close to the wall, fire hazardI followed the manufacturers guidelines for minimum distance from the wall. It’s meant to be wall mounted and it’s as far away from the other wall as they said to do it.
Anyway, I love saunas, thank you for your cultural contribution to health and true cleanliness Finnbros.
