How is it that every authoritarian leader in the world is a person without morals, ready to kill people? Why isn't there some sort of selection that detects and eliminates psychopaths?

Its normal to sacrifice a life for something greater, but in this case its just to prolong his authority for a few years or maybe he really thinks his country is best under his rule -in which case the sacrifice of a few lives was absolutely worth it.
the problem is rather selfishness and selfdelusion...
human lives are not as valuable as you are told
