yeah there were a lot of small things that seemed suspect yet not outright damning.
like is an office full of flemish game devs really not going to have anyone fluent in english around? it's not necessarily IMPOSSIBLE but it'd definitely be highly unusual
i'm listed as having translation experience as a native english speaker, but none of it has anything to do with dutch or french, so how the hell would i be of any use? MAYBE they feel like people are hesitant to work with ESLs so they just need someone native to make their english seem professional, but SURELY there's plenty of flemings with english just about as good as mine they'd prefer to work with
why try to make the move to whatsapp so fast? CONCEIVABLY they'll have a better time understanding me over voice if their english really is that bad, but one would imagine having as much time as they want to unravel my messages over text is better
outright refusing to answer the questions though was the nail in the coffin. especially the one about the name of the business given that it's publicly available information that can be found just googling the guy's username, so the only reason to be dodgy about it would be if it wasn't their business and explicitly stating it was crosses the line from implicating who they are to intentionally committing identity theft
