I'm guessing you won't leave your porch for fear that you will be killed by roaming gangs and / or that all your possessions will not be there when you return unless you sit infront of them all day desperately drinking coffee in order to stay awake long enough for the roaming gangs to fall asleep.
Imagine, a life without worry, a life where you don't have to struggle to survive, where you can actually trust the government to make decent decisions, hell you can even trust a relatively bad government to at least make some right decisions. Just imagine not reeking of cheese burgers and body odour. Imagine a world where everything is different from what you know, where it is good, the air is sweet and fresh and you are free. A land which is not America.
