Hentai is pretty honest about its “low art” or “degenerate” status. It is porn, honest porn that fills a wide range of art and the most bizzare fantasies. Hentai takes no pedestal position. You would have to be insane to say the majority of hentai has intellectual merit. Few if any newspapers recommend people watch hentai with their children. Netflix as far as I am aware mostly tries to remove hentai from their platform.
