I raved a little bit back in the 00s and it might have been a 00s thing but the people in my scene were the most messed up group of people I have ever met. The whole thing spiraled out of control, the cops nipped half of the big players, and the other half skipped town.
I saw people fry themselves into retardation. Like they're done. Their brains were so fucked from going too hard on grams of (good) MDMA that I doubt that they ever made it out of McDonalds. Had multiple multiple friends lose their minds (like schizophrenic, some end up in jail), lost my best friend to dope.
THAT was the reality of the dark parts of the real rave scene back in the day in the 00s, not this weekend warrior festival bullshit.
So shut up, you don't know what you're talking about. I'm sure it might have been better in the 90s but guaranteed there were plenty of casualties then too. There's a lot of fun to be had until the drugs wear off and reality sets in.
