Whether you are good at composing, drawing and programming depends on education and talent. And whether your room is filled with anime merch and obscure jap video games and anime also depends on whether you have the means to it or not. Not something every Otaku must have. And the interests must also not be so wide. There are many aspects of the wider Otaku Community and nobody interacts with all the aspects of them
I mean I personally got back into Touhou about a year ago after like one or two years of no Touhou this time the right way and have been doing the best contributions I could with my skills, I can admit that I and other parts of the community have not been doing many contribution but it's just that thanks to the fucking corona everyone is in caged in in front of the blue square and their creative energy used up. I've some ideas in the back of my mind that I want to do but lack the skills /bant/ used to make a lot more OC but from my perspective I just look at the threads and sometimes think how to make an actually worthwhile contribution and don't see how to tie the link it's hard to explain it's like trying to put a square into a circled hole.
