Tobacco General.

I just bought a snuff box and a Freibourg and Treyer blend of snuff. Never used that, or snus. Smoking cigars and pipe nearly every day. What am I in for bros?

Awesome. I also bought some General White snus and Skalj? Anyways, I think tobacco is the best way to enhance my cognitive abilities and to offset my alcohol intake. I'd take a well crafted cigar over a beer now.

Fine choice.
I marinate in smoke for the boost in testosterone. I dont inhale, just cycle through the nose and mouth for the fascial/body high. I have some nice cohibas and montecristos for my rest days from lifting that I enjoy.

although i seem to get "used to" particular blends and after sneezing initially you kind of build up this tolerance, that then strangely diminishes when you try something profoundly different in terms of strength, moisture or flavour.

Based.
Snuff is great but I prefer the finest mill possible. It's kind of disgusting, buy some tissues and a Vicks inhaler because it stays in your nose. Very pleasurable though.
Buy some Missouri Meerschaum pipes. I have some very expensive briars and I infinitely prefer a corncob.
Honestly, get some good quality VaPer tobacco and perhaps a good English/Balkan blend and you will never have to bother with cigars. To me a cigar is a horrible cigarette or an inferior pipe.
If cigars are really your thing, get some Gawith Hoggarth: Brown Twist or some Gawith Hoggarth: Dark Plug - far superior to any cigar in my opinion.

1. Dry your tobacco
2. Don't pack it too tightly
3. Don't take huuuge gaps between puffs. Roughly 20-30 seconds is a good cadence.
4. Tamp it down every few minutes.

Do the 3 pack method. Make a nice tight base near the draw, a tight, but more aerated middle, and then a light top. Light once, the flake or ribbons will rise as they expand. Tamp. Light a second time after tamping so that they're compacted but not too compacted. Always test a draw before the first light.

Blend also matters. I've had cheapo house blends that burn hot and wet no matter how many days you dry them for and they struggle to stay lit. A brand name flake like peterson will stay lit practically on its own with just a bit a drying.

Fellow snuff taker here. HDT is my long time favorite, and Bordeaux once in a while. Don't put too much in the snuff box because it will go stale. You will probably go snuff crazy and acquire dozens of snuffs. They make little glass jars intended for cosmetics, get a bunch of those and decant your snuffs into them to maintain freshness. Also love Toque and Wilsons as well.
