Think about how frequently we see very recent history change on a daily basis. Redefining of the term 'vaccinated', media blatantly and shamelessly lies to further its own narrative, White people being retroactively removed from their own history.
This is still happening right now when we all have access to extremely powerful tools to store data. Now think about the rest of history, primary sources of text aren't a thing. For most of our existence the material used to store information of every kind had a very poor longevity, less than 1% of things ever written down survived and all of the works that did survive were at the mercy of countless nameless transcribers before handed down to us. These could have been tampered with and completely manipulated numerous times as a result of a person's/societies political and religious environment, a narcissistic scribe or more likely just plain forgeries. All of these factors can be multiplied an indeterminate amount of times by eachother.
