In Genesis 2:7, Yahweh Elohim (God) forms (yâtsar) Adam(kind) (awdawm H119/120) from the dust of the ground.
"And Yawheh Elohim formed ADAM of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." — Genesis 2:7

* Notice the Elohim (PLURAL) let's create them in OUR image
* Notice that once they create them (man and woman), the Elohim tell mankind to 'REplenish' the earth
Genesis is the story of the recreation of the Earth, not it's creation
