- Concentrated lemon juice, store brand is fine
- Lemon juice from concentrate is cheap and available at most stores
- Buy a half dozen or more bottles depending on your plan
- Lemon juice from concentrate has a long shelf life, even after opening a bottle it is not required to refrigerate and will last for several weeks easily
Now, why include lemon juice from concentrate on your prepper list?
Well, it has a surprising number of practical uses:
- use as an antiseptic, dilute with water if desired
- add a few splashes of lemon concentrate to a small bowl of water and clean your self, it's effective in eliminating body odor and bacteria
- pour a small amount in palm of hand and rub in arm pits, it makes a great, cheap and effective deodorant
- if you have bottled water, the lemon concentrate can make a refreshing change to the taste, if you want it to be like lemonade just add a sweetener of choice
- use it with water for all around general purpose cleaner and sanitizer
- hand wash your small clothes with lemon juice and water, it remarkably effective (adding some salt makes it even a better clothes detergent)
Caveats:
lemon juice concentrate can sting the skin and might cause irritation for people with sensitive skin, so dilute with clean water as needed
