Representations of good not concealing the wretchedness behind them in the least. Thriving not in the world, but only in the void where it cannot be. There is no kindness in its embrace, or in some concern for whatever passes for its opinions or thoughts.
But then, I imagine Reimu takes comfort from such tortured things. On the deepest level, possibly, rather, likely she is not even aware of her need to surround herself with such twisted people because it at least gives her own rather unpleasant being some sort of context in which her mode of life can be existentially justified. Not wholesome, but bearable. And the bearings therein found lead only to a place where that existential justification will wane. There would be reason to hold concern, if it were somewhere that weren't so close to rock-bottom.
