You do not treat pnuemonia with a ventilator. There is a reason there were so few before the scamdemic began. Because ventilators are used only for when the patient is on his last breath and is comatosed and cannot physically breath on his/her own. So, they put them on a ventilator so his/her family can say their last goodbyes. (Or to keep them alive for organ transplants.)

About 90% of the deaths were people who were put on ventilators. This is what is known as, "malpractice" and it's the third leading cause of death in the United States.

Comparing case rates is more accurate for the general population, as the death/hospitalization rates are going to be of people who are already obese, old, and/or diabetic.
