Philosophy and Anthropology is the most interesting of those but all of them are politicized as hell and a university isn't really the right place to go to pursue them.

Eh, I know what you mean about memorizing formulas, but that's not really the point. Think of it just like learning a technique to help you solve a problem in a more succinct way. The same things can be applied philosophically. In my experience they are very intertwined. Expansion of perspective is important for philosophical pursuits and I often find myself using parallels between the two to better grasp more complex logics. It's also just good for improving short term and working memory and relating philosophy to more practical applications.

I mean there are some parts of it that are a pain. I've never known someone who enjoyed precalc. The trick is to find meaning in the struggle, as with a lot of other things in life, right? Can you describe your own ambitions and drive? Maybe I can help you with the process of contextualizing them.

Some struggles are very fun, for example I enjoy souls games. Some struggles are the worst - like transit (ehem, and maths)

I don't need a new house, a car, expensive clothes - anything like that. I don't care about money and could live on a bread & water diet.

I'm supposed to study something next year too, preferably on an actual university, but also don't know what faculty.
I had thought about English (culture) studies, Japanese (culture) studies, general biology, computer science or world history. But I already suspect biology to be pretty much annoying as a major course and the language/culture studies to be pozzed with Anti-white and Anti-right-wing propaganda.
I could also try video game design or programming, but the requirements to even get in there are too much for me for now, since courses like these cost much more and they want to see your art and game projects beforehand, and I have neither of them though...

That's not a very good answer, but I can empathize with it. Going into the why would make this too much about me, though. If you're looking into faculties, presumably some aspect of academia holds an interest for you, no? Are you leaving that part out, or are you pursuing it because of some sort of expectation? If it's just to put bread on your table and then take it easy, not to dissuade you, but are you really doing the right thing? There are other fields of work that would fulfill your stated needs just fine with far less effort.

I love learning! There are only a few subjects which I dislike (you can guess). I'm not in a hurry to get money, so I would like to learn as much as I can in the meantime.
Secondly, my whole family have been academics, and I would like to follow in their steps.
Lastly, it's about self-esteem. I would feel more accomplished if I were reminded each day that I have passed a tough challenge!

Well then those are your ambitions too, right? If you look at maths as part of that, you should be able to enjoy it more, since it's meaningful, or at least more-so than transit. As far as advice, I just talked about an area I have a personal interest in since you brought it up. I can't tell him what to go to school for for the same reason I didn't tell you which faculty to pursue, but I will make a suggestion.

Out of all of these world history and programming are the most interesting to me. One of my closest friends is a comp sci major and he often has very interesting things to say about programming efficiency but frankly I'm just too dumb for it myself. If you have the brains for it though I think it's a pretty good field to go into though, and probably the most profitable of all your stated inclinations. Cultural and historical studies aren't really bothersome to pursue in your free time if you really enjoy them.
