Tamriel as the middle of the ancient world was basically a bridge connecting the vastly different biomes to an intersection. In the future Tamriel has become the heart of world, ironically Lorkhan's heart was located in the Red Mountain, which is still somewhat part of the Tamrielic landmass. Other parts of Lorkhan that can still only be found on Tamriel are Ebony ore. Ebony is Lorkhan's petrified blood. The two moons Secunda and Masser are his physical corpse reshaped. Secunda and Masser are most important for the race of Khajiit.
They are either another native beast race of Tamriel, they could be a strange branch of descendants of the ancient mer/human race Ehlnofey or they are related to Bosmer. Bosmer themselves are offshoots from Aldmeri explorers of Tamriel. Speaking about native races of Nirn. Dragons and Hists are supposed to be the first ones, even before Ehlnofey or beast races.

In the assassination quest, the chests in his room can generate a Talos amulet, this actually means nothing, but imperials know how to privately continue to worship Talos without enraging the Thalmor.
