Your argument has nothing to do with "property tax" (aka rent). It's better to seek money from other sources instead of making owning land impossible for the average citizen.
For example, all the multi-billion dollar industries. Tax the biggest ones a little more, or have a variable property tax which allows anything under [X] size to be tax free, and anything over [Y] size to be taxed.Create stipulations for multiple properties etc too, so no one takes advantage.
This is the United States, not Europe. Go back there if you want to live like a serf.
